Join experienced broom maker, Noelle Swonsen, in learning broom basics and beginning weaving!
Take broom making to the next level and learn to weave a cobwebber broom! The cobwebber is ideal for sweeping into high corners and difficult to reach spots, and it looks beautiful hanging on the wall in-between uses.
You will learn to weave and stitch broomcorn and leave with a functional cobwebber broom handmade by you!
No prior experience is necessary, Open to all beginners, only some manual dexterity and a beginner’s mind!
Please be aware that we will be working with damp materials, wear clothes you don't mind possibly getting wet.
Also, please note that broom making is a physical activity that requires the use of both hands and feet. Moderate hand strength is recommended.
We will be: grasping, holding, turning/rotating, maintaining tension between a stick under feet and a broom in hands.
(Suggested: Flat bottom shoes or athletic shoes, you will be using your feet! Once you are in the studio barefoot is an option too)
Supplies to make (1) Cobwebber provided.
